“A shape is seeking to form, to know why it does.” HAVEN’s music is driven by topics such as self-reflection, consequence of action, the structure of ego, the weight of personal experience, and questions concerning the significance of human life as part of an all-embracing cycle of energy. Following an intensive phase of defining their sound – which brings together manic aggression, dark heaviness, and fragile melody – the German alternative/post-metal five-piece first presented itself with their debut EP “Anima” and with energetic live shows that left an impact on listeners throughout.

Now, HAVEN are following up with their second EP “Vessel”, which promises to uphold the core of what they have built while further developing the elements of their musical and performative efforts. “Vessel” clearly shows that the band is willing and capable to explore more of their deep pool of artistic potential.

“A shape is seeking to form, to know why it does.” HAVEN behandeln in ihren Songs Themen wie Selbstreflexion, Handlungskonsequenzen, der Struktur des Ichs, dem Stellenwert persönlicher Erfahrungen, sowie Fragen nach der Bedeutung menschlichen Lebens als Teil eines allumfassenden Energiekreislaufs. Nach einer intensiven Phase, in der die Band ihren Sound definierte – welcher manische Aggression, düstere Schwere und zerbrechliche Melodien in sich vereint – präsentierte sich das fünfköpfige Alternative-/Post-Metal Projekt zunächst mit der Debüt-EP “Anima” und mit energiegeladenen Live-Shows, die einen bleibenden Eindruck beim Publikum hinterließen.

Nun legen HAVEN mit ihrer zweiten EP “Vessel” nach, wobei sie dem Kern des bisherigen Schaffens treu bleiben, während sie ihre musikalischen und performativen Elemente ausgebaut haben. “Vessel” zeigt deutlich, dass die Band willens und in der Lage ist, ihr großes künstlerisches Potenzial noch weiter auszuschöpfen.
